日子過得飛快，一眨眼半年又過去了，感觉才剛剛洗完牙，怎么又到了要清潔牙齒的時間。說實在我是很不情願每半年去做一次牙齒清潔的，清潔時非常不舒服，所以能拖就拖。在預約時間的前幾天，診所的護士打電話來提醒不要忘記時間，這時侯正好在政府見疫情得到控制趨于平穩，允許部分相關的服務部門小范围開放。為了讓就診者放心，診所還安装了一台空氣清潔機。本想借疫情拖延洗牙時間，現在就沒有什麼理由了，何況一個月前一顆牙齒繃了一小塊需要補，於是我按約定時間去赴診了。
醫生檢查後說牙齒需要補，但今天不補改天再來，因為助手今天不在，要約到助手在的那天。今天幫助醫生的是一個年輕小伙子，我猜大約是實習生。我想助手不在有什麼關係，以前䃼牙都是洗完牙后接着做的，我不情願再來一次，就跟醫生提出要求今天洗完牙後把牙補了吧，但醫生坚持說今天只是洗牙，過幾天再來補牙。
但很快我打消了这个念头，因为我想這樣做不是令這個年輕人尷尬嗎？有經驗的人不是從沒經驗開始積累的嗎？如果沒有人讓年輕人實習他们怎能成長呢？我是個修行人，事事該替他人考慮，我應該為他的成長忍自己的難受，於是我下決心把這次洗牙完成，尽管之后还出现吞水恶心的情况。
我們凡人遇到問題时，習慣性、本能性的以我為出發點考慮和處理問題，但作为修行人，是必須改變自己去掉自私，隨時隨地反省自己考慮別人，這樣才是真正的修行。
